Wethaq Takaful Insurance Company has been a valuable complement to Investment Dar Company as a group company for large-scale retail car business and group insurance. Investment Dar plans to continue to utilize Wethaq as part of a strategy of providing every aspect of financial services.

The company was established in July of 2000. Its principal activities are takaful insurance and reinsurance, all carried out in accordance with the principles of Islamic sharia'a. Wethaq Takaful Insurance was listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in December 2004 and during the fourth quarter of 2005, Investment Dar increased its share in Wethaq to 40 percent.

Wethaq's vision for the future is to grow its general and health insurance business as well as to expand more aggressively into different products that are being offered in international markets.
